Update Regarding Steam Accounts Impacted by Outage
During the recent Steam outage, a change in how Steam’s API verified expansion ownership caused Guild Wars 2 Steam accounts to be incorrectly marked as Play for Free accounts, regardless of their actual status. Once we identified the issue, we implemented a fix to restore the correct expansion status for all affected players. No progress or items were lost, and all impacted accounts have been returned to their proper status.

This issue lasted for approximately ten hours. We understand how frustrating and concerning this was for those affected, and we sincerely apologize. To thank you for your patience, we are applying 800 gems to all impacted accounts. No action is needed—your gems will be automatically applied later today and will be available for use the next time you log in.

I think its great you were able to resolve this.
Sure a bunch of crying children complained, but I am a dev, I understand how irritating third party APIs changing is. You did well to fix it so fast.

Thank you for this! It was quite the scare to see 150 euro DLC where all gone when you logged in but happy you where able to fix it. Especially before you noticed it affected everyone. Very nice of you to give something extra for the trouble, that's very healthy game practice that's rarely seen nowdays. Appreciate the update what was going on and the gems.

and everyone got 800 gems as compensation for enduring less than 24h with the dlc issue, tbh most dont deserve it specially ppl who were spaming the forum saying anet is a scammer, worst game ever, terrible publisher, lets go back to eso etc etc what a bunch of ungrateful kids throwing massive tantrum, lets not forget those who gave negative review and wont change it.

This is a great idea for compensation. However, i am still missing the 800 gems and i was impacted. I would apprechiate you to check this.

Thank you for giving me a currency that I can only use in your game. I mean, its not like I can convert them to dollars. Thank you very much. I just want to make sure that we are on the same page. That an "in-game" currency were given for a recent "in-game" issue. If you give a refund for those who want a refund (no questions asked), well that would say something extraordinary about the developers. Something like this: "this game is so fantastic that even if a game purchase refund was issued, the customers would not even dare to consider it because they are absolutely satisfied with game." Now, that would be something. But the rest doesn't really impress me.

I thank you for the gems. I mean it. As long as we are on the same page, that is: you keep the dollars and give the gems away.
